This is a new blog. I have been gathering information on Col. Nicholas Long family history for several years (Rev War, Col.). Recently I discovered the English ansestry of the first Nicholas Long who came to the America's around 1730 in North Carolina and settled in Halifax County. This had been a missing link for many years. However, I would like to validate the reference that I found if possible and also share information with my many relatives descended from the original Nicholas.

My family line is through his first son Nicholas II who moved to Washington, GA and his son Richard Harrison Long who moved to Greenwood, Fl (and signed the first constitution of FL).
